What is the difference between the Smart Calendar Booking and Bookable Service steps?

Both let an AI agent book appointments, but they write to different calendars.

Bookable Service uses Votel's built-in calendar. Use it when the business does not have its own appointment booking system or a Google or Microsoft calendar. You pick the bookable in the step, for example one created for a free roof inspection, and the step books on that calendar. A Votel bookable can also sync with a third-party calendar, so the two steps can end up doing similar things.

Smart Calendar Booking is for when your client wants appointments written directly to their own calendar. You connect a third-party calendar service for this.
