Am I locked in, or can I download my website files and my app's code and database?

You are not locked in. Every website in Votel gives you full, raw access to its files, including images, CSS and HTML.

Open the website and go to Files. From there you can download all the files, upload all the files, or drag and drop individual files into the file area, including raw HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Use this to back up your site, to bring in a static site you are migrating from another host, or to take a site you built in Votel and host it anywhere you want or hand it to a client. A site built in Votel is hosted by Votel unless you choose to host it elsewhere.

For any web app you build in the AI assistant, you have full access to the source code and the database and can download them at any time, for example to back it up or move it.

You can also import websites and apps from elsewhere. For moving a static site that is live on the web, you can also import it by URL (Pages, New, Import from URL). You can also tell the AI assistant to redesign an existing site from its address.
